As Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford continued his remarkable run of debut goals with a hat-trick for England U21s, we take a look back at the 18-year-old’s impressive debut goalscoring record...
Manchester United debut (Man Utd 5-1 Midtjylland, Europa League February 25, 2016)
Rashford was so far down the pecking order at Old Trafford his name did not even appear on the back of the matchday programme and had only been called into the United starting line-up shortly before kick-off following an injury to Anthony Martial. However, the teenager marked his arrival in the senior side with a second-half brace as Louis van Gaal's side overcame a first-leg defeat to secure progress in the Europa League.
Premier League debut (Man Utd 3-2 Arsenal, February 28, 2016)
The young striker was rewarded with his first Premier League start just three days later when a quick double midway through the first half helped see off Arsene Wenger's side, all but putting paid to their aspirations of winning the title.
England debut (England 2-1 Australia, May 27, 2016)
Rashford pressed his case for a place at Euro 2016 with a dream goal on his senior England debut in the win over Australia at the Stadium of Light, volleying home after just two minutes and 18 seconds to become the nation's third-youngest international goalscorer.
England U21 debut (England U21 6-1 Norway U21, September 6, 2016)
The 18-year-old's impressive record continued with a hat-trick in a first appearance for Gareth Southgate's England U21 side. In front of watching new senior boss Sam Allardyce in Colchester, Rashford opened the scoring on 29 minutes before completing his treble in the second half with a fine strike and a coolly-converted penalty.
