Marcus Rashford scored a fairytale hat-trick on his England U21 debut as Gareth Southgate's side moved a step closer to Euro 2017.

In front of watching senior boss Sam Allardyce, the Three Lions beat Norway 6-1 to go two points clear at the top of Group nine with two qualifying games to play.

Manchester United striker Rashford was again the star, opening the scoring in the first half before completing his treble with a fine strike and penalty in the second period.

Nathaniel Chalobah, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Lewis Baker also scored to put England on course to reach next year's tournament in Poland despite Ghayas Zahid's consolation.

England travel to Kazakhstan before hosting Bosnia in October as look to look to seal their passage to the tournament in their final qualification games.

Rashford scored on his senior debut against Australia four months ago and completed his own personal double on his U21 bow in Colchester.
